Probably not for you if

  • You want your bank account connected. Nothing here links to a bank; you type or paste each amount.
  • You want a whole year in one file. The Annual Budget & Expense Tracker does that.
  • You'd rather work on paper. Look at the printable savings trackers or the weekly planner.
A note on advice
Dream Assets Studio templates are planning and tracking tools. They are not financial, tax, legal or investment advice, and they don't know your personal situation. Example figures are made up. You're responsible for what you enter and for the decisions you make with the results.

Questions about this one

Do I need a Google account?

For the Sheets version, yes, a free one. The Excel file works without one.

Can I change the currency?

You can type any symbol on Settings. It appears in the labels only; the cells hold plain numbers with two decimals, and the sheet doesn't convert between currencies.

How do I do October?

Change the month on Settings and Summary follows. Transactions holds up to 300 rows per file, so for a busy household make a fresh copy each month or clear the old rows.

Why do the cells look empty in a Finder or email preview?

The file stores formulas, not their results. They compute when you open it in Excel or Sheets. Quick Look and mail previews don't calculate, so they show blanks.

Will it open in Apple Numbers?

It usually opens, but Numbers isn't what we build for, and dropdowns and some formatting may look different. Google Sheets is free and the safer choice on a Mac without Excel.
